Pruning Japanese Maples

Beautifully groomed

Good grooming and good health make it necessary to remove dead wood and small branches at the center of weeping maples. They can hold unsightly dead leaves in the winter, an eyesore as well as an inviting habitat for bugs and fungi. When they are small it is easy to just reach into the center of the weeping form to snip off the twiggy growth at the interior of the tree.
