Shipping and Handling Policy
We ship trees on Mondays to avoid weekend delays. California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington are shipped USPS Priority Mail or UPS ground. All other continental states go USPS Priority Mail or UPS 3 Day Select.
During the dormant season (November-April) we semi-bareroot the trees and pack the roots in a damp peat moss. If the trees are in leaf, we leave the roots more intact, making the package heavier, packaging more difficult, and shipping more expensive, so we encourage requesting dormant ship dates.
We pull your order from stock when it is received and care for your tree until it is shipped. If we don't feel a tree can safely be shipped, we will ask you to wait until it can. Trees are packed with reused or recycled packaging materials when we can, and we encourage our customers to reuse and recycle.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
We will not make substitutions on your order without your prior permission. When you order trees that are very rare, it is helpful to us if you can give us an acceptable substitution. We will be glad to offer suggestions.
DAMAGED PACKAGES:
If your package arrives damaged, please call us at (707) 984-6522 or (888) 707-6522 or E-mail us (mtmaples@mountainmaples.com) right away, and be sure to save all the packing materials for the shipper to examine. This procedure will get us a refund for the lost merchandise from the shipper, and we thank you. Mountain Maples' guarantee to our customers is valid regardless, and replacement trees will be shipped right away.
REPLACEMENT TREES:
There is no charge for trees replaced under our guarantee, however, it is necessary for us to charge you for the shipping of these trees.
